Josh is Sam Minor’s second eldest son and an integral part of the third generation of the family business. Josh graduated Canon McMillan High School in 2015 and went on to the University of the Cumberlands on a lacrosse scholarship. He also spent time coaching lacrosse at his alma mater where he enjoyed inspiring youth to find joy in his favorite sport.
Josh takes after his father in his love for the Dairy Farming Industry. He definitely has the “farmer” gene! His aunts remember him toddling around always wanting to hop on the “boom boom” (as we know it, a tractor) with his dad. He is always working and has a special love for the milking parlor where he works most evenings to get all 115 cows milked all by himself! As the Lead Milker on the farm, he plays a significant role in ensuring our herd is supplying the best milk possible. This requires lots of communication with other milkers, keeping track of our ladies’ milk production, and usually fixing equipment in between- and tons of math! As if that isn’t enough to keep up with, Josh also heads up our crop production on the farm. He is the driving force behind our corn and hay silage production and irrigation system on the farm, which helps move us in the direction of self sustainability.
In his free time (or what’s left of it!) Josh enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Miranda, who also loves to spend plenty of time with the cows! Josh enjoys all the fun and challenges of being a part of a family business. He is so proud of what his family has created and can’t wait to see the business grow with the upcoming third generation.
